Creature Design Trial

So here are a few tests and trials I've been doing for a creature that will play quite an important role in the Voices of Ilya adventures.
It's a shadow-ish creature so it will most likely be black with a little violet here and there possibly.

It's supposed to look cute with the potential of becoming creepy when needed... something like that.

I've noticed that most of the designs there fit for one specific general idea for the creature. But the others with the ant, spider, bird and dinosaur; where they previously considered designs for the creature or something else?

It's actually the other way around. I just started drawing at first without any concept and went on from there. That's the left side.
But I wasn't satisfied with it, mostly with the legs and how it would move. So I thought about three different types or rather two of different movement. The ant or spider one would of cause move a bit spider like. The middle one would walk on its two feet and the one down might hop a little like a rabbit or certain dinosaurs do. Rabbit and goose were my references there.

It looks a tiny bit scorpion-like to me. In large part because of it's tail. But it just gives off this alien-scorpion like vibe to me

Yeah true. It was actually a scorpion that I had in mind, along with the spider at first. I guess I just liked the idea.
